Duplex Steel Pipe boasts a unique dual-phase microstructure, featuring roughly equal parts austenite and ferrite, which allows it to harness the best of both worlds. Common grades, such as Duplex 2205 (UNS S32205), typically contain around 22% Chromium, 5-6.5% Nickel, 3% Molybdenum, and 0.15% Nitrogen. This specific composition provides exceptional resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion. In terms of mechanical properties, Duplex Steel Pipe exhibits high tensile strength (620–880 MPa) and a yield strength of about 450 MPa—nearly double that of austenitic stainless steels—along with excellent fatigue and impact resistance. Plus, these pipes are known for their good weldability and formability, making them perfect for critical applications.
