Nickel Alloy 201 tubing is commercially pure wrought nickel having a very low carbon content of up to 0.02%, aimed to provide enhanced resistance to graphitization when exposed at elevated temperatures compared to Nickel 200. The composition is approximately 99.6% nickel, with traces of iron, manganese, and copper. The alloy offers outstanding mechanical properties, such as tensile strength of about 380–550 MPa, high ductility, and elongation of more than 30%. Its low carbon content makes it a good choice for uses with temperatures higher than 315°C, where Nickel 200 could turn brittle. It also has excellent resistance to caustic alkalies and reducing chemicals and good thermal and electrical conductivity.
